Hello and welcome to ThreeChannels.

Wordless Wednesday: Dancin’ at the Helix

During our foray into DC before the Holidays, we stayed at this rockin’ hotel called the Helix.  Quite Duran Duran.  And child-friendly with bunkbeds that had their own TV/Video Game combo.  Add free wine from 5-7 pm for the parents and you have a winner!

I am capable of spending 7 hours in the Museum of Natural History if I can come home to this simplicity.

The place even had child-sized leopard robes, which, of course, Edward had to don and do a fancy dance on the round faux leather coffee table.  Good times friends, good times!

It’s no shotgun shack.

And you may ask yourself, well, how did I get here?  Let the days go by….

Same as it ever was.

I’m going to have that song in my head all night. :)

Suh-weet diggs though. I’m totally jealous of the leopard print robes.

Same as it ever was.

Love that song…Talking Heads? Dug out some photos from college. One was the night the B-52s came to campus. This was my first concert. So exciting.

I live near D.C. I must check out the Helix. Sounds fun. We stayed at Great Wolf Lodge in Willamsburg. Kids loved the inside the room log cabin with bunk bed and single bed. So fun for them. My middle daughter wants to go back.

My boys love staying in hotels but I’m always stressed out that they’re being too loud! Love those robes!

Someday we’ll visit DC again. I’ve gotta remember the Helix. It looks fantastic!

ROFL, those are great pictures! He’s such a ham. Love the robe!

And I’ve never heard of a hotel having bunkbeds. I’ll have to keep that in mind when we try braving a vacation with the kiddos.

Before you said they had child size leopard robes I thought that was a picture of your son wearing YOUR robe. Well, it goes with the purse – ya know??

Fun!

You were gone forever it seems!

Awesome visual! I’m thinking maybe more Ratt than Duran Duran though….
