GF/CF Friday: Purely Decadent Dairy Free Ice Cream

Please head on over the Hello Kittie Mama’s Bon Bon Gazette for more GF/CF Friday Reviews!

Finally, finally, finally, eureka! Someone has done it!  A great-tasting, fairly-priced dairy and gluten-free ice cream novelty with enviable flavor and creamy texture!

We have tried so many different dairy-free ice cream substitutes with Edward, our 6-year-old who has been on the GF/CF diet for 8 months; he flatly rejected them all.  Until the arrival of this jewel!  It actually has chunks of gluten-free chocolate chip cookie dough!  Feel the love:

The only down-side is Edward’s out-right obsession with the flavor and creamy goodness.  For instance today, I rounded the corner in the kitchen to find this:

My local Publix has even had this confectionary miracle on sale!

Buy, buy, buy!

Is this one of the new ones that is coconut milk or is it the soy based? We tried this a while ago and I want to say it was Soy so I haven’t bought it in a while – it was a plain vanilla one instead going for “rice dream” or his favorite – italian ice.

I heard this brand just came out with gluten free, dairy free/soy free and I want to say it is coconut milk.. which I am seriously curious about!

I didn’t get to mine but I do have a living room floor right now.

Do you know if it has Casein? My older dd would be thrilled if she could have it but can’t have anything with casein.

MT, it is soy based. Connie, it does not have casein. Both gluten and casein-free!

The only thing that would make rounding the corner perfect is if Edward was eating his ice cream in the morning for breakfast! So glad you found some good treats! Much love, Ashley

Tim from Turtle Mountain, makers of Purely Decadent, here. It’s great to see Edward enjoying our ice cream so much. We love stories like these!

I just wanted to let everyone know that we make two gluten-free versions of cookie dough ice cream, one with soy and the other with coconut milk. Edward was eating the soy version. Below is a link to gluten and other allergy info for all of our products.
